A man was arrested on Wednesday while impersonating his wife during an aptitude test for applicants seeking teaching job in public schools in Osun State.

The man, Aremu Adekunle, was caught at the test centre at the Ilesha College of Education and handed over to men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Adekunle was apprehended because his photograph did not match with the photo of the applicant, Oyinade Sade Adegbite.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Roseline Olawumi, who witnessed the incident, confirmed the arrest.

The Commissioner for Education, Mr Folorunsho Oladoyin, condemned the act, stressing that it was shameful and embarrassing that a prospective teacher could be found committing such crime.

Mr Oladoyin said, “It is shameful that somebody who wants to teach students academically and morally could be involved in fraudulent malpractice; what example is such a person going to set for the students? This is rather unfortunate.”
