The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a man found with a gun within the premises of a church in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command, ASP NR Rimvyok, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to Daily Trust in a telephone conversation on Monday morning.
The spokesperson said, “At the moment, there is nothing to report yet as investigations are still ongoing. So, we don’t have anything to report yet, until after the investigation.’’
Our correspondent reports that the suspect’s arrest comes amid a surge in attacks and killings in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs of the state.

Daily Trust further reports that between March 28 and April 2, five communities were attacked, resulting in the deaths of over 70 persons in the area.
Daily Trust gathered that the suspect was apprehended on Sunday morning at about 8:30 am during a routine patrol by NSCDC operatives around the church compound.
