NSCDC arrests suspected vandals, recovers electric cables, vehicles in Ogun

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, have arrested four suspected vandals and recovered electricity cables worth millions of naira and two vehicles.

The State Commandant, David Ojelabi, paraded the suspects in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Ojelabi said one of the suspects, Ojuolape Olaitan (36), who was arrested for vandalizing electricity cables at Imomo community, Ijebu North-East LG, Ogun State.

Ojelabi said bundles of vandalized transmission cables worth millions of naira in market value and Toyota Camry Vehicle used in committing the crime with Lagos number plate: KJA-103 DF were recovered from him as exhibits.

Ojelabi also said a gang of three suspected vandals were apprehended stealing, possession and tampering with vandalized cables worth millions of naira in market value.

They are Sanni Mohammed Aliu (40) living in Lafenwa, Abeokuta; Aliu Mohammed, (28) and a 42-year-old driver, Arowona Azeez, residing at Biobaku Street, Lafenwa, Abeokuta.

According to him, bundles of vandalized Armoured cable and Lagos vehicle number plate GGE-763 BR were recovered as exhibits.
