Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has begun the construction of its “Cooperative House” at the corps’ headquarters in Abuja.
The Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, said the project, a 200-bedroom edifice, was initiated in December 2021, by the present crop of executives of the cooperative society.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the project, he said, “It is expected upon completion to increase the fortunes of the cooperative society and impact positively on the corps’ welfare drive for its members, being an additional source of generating funds for its activities.
“The Cooperative House is designed to accommodate such facilities as conference centres, event centres, shopping malls, guest houses, gyms and other recreational facilities/services that will be available for use not only by its members but will also be open for use by the public.”
Audi further said that the project would provide job opportunities to unemployed youths in the country at every stage of its development and upon completion.
On his part, the President of the NSCDC Cooperative House Project, Assistant Commandant Aina Oladeji, assured that the project would bring huge returns on investment.
He said, “From bookings to the airport, motor parks, railway stations to the hotel check-in and customers’ itinerary around the city, the Cooperative House is designed and poised to provide security services on the go and create a different concept in service delivery in the hospitality industry,” he added.
