The FCT Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Olusola Odumosu, has decried the prevalence of molestation of minors in Abuja and its environs.

Odumosu expressed his disapproval of the act when some students and representatives of ECWA Hill Academy management visited his office in Abuja. He stated that the corps is saddled with the responsibility of curbing trafficking, gender-based violence, among other criminalities, and remains dedicated to the protection of children from sexual molestation, trafficking and organ harvesting. “It is sad to say that currently, we are handling a case of a father molesting his nine-year-old daughter,” he revealed. “We are concerned about this insanity perpetrated against minors, especially the girl child, but we are set, through the corps’ gender unit and other relevant agencies, to make sure that such incidents are not treated lightly,” he promised.
