The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Bauchi State has inaugurated 35 Special Female Squad (SFS) trained to protect students against kidnappers in schools across the state.

Speaking during the inauguration, State’s Commandant of NSCDC, Nuraddeen Abdullahi, said the special female squad was trained specifically to tackle insecurity, especially kidnapping of students in schools, abduction of women and children; rape and other criminal activities in the society.

He added that the special squad will be deployed to schools and also take part in any operational activities that warrant their intervention to maintain law and order in the state.

Abdullahi explained that the idea of training of female personnel was initiated by the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Audi Abubakar, to intervene in tackling security challenges especially, kidnapping of students, human trafficking, rape and other forms criminality in the society.

In her remark, Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, represented by Hajiya Yelwa Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, charged the newly inaugurated officers to uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
