Eleven suspects have been arrested for alleged illegal mining in Kwara State.
They were arrested with three trucks loaded with materials suspected to be lithium, illegally mined at Patigi LGA of the state, it was learnt.
It was gathered that the operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) intercepted the suspects in Share, Ifelodun LGA on their way to Ogun State.

Speaking on the development, the spokesman of the command, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, said they are working hard with relevant agencies to curtail the activities of illegal miners in the state.
He added that “The state commandant, Muhammed Tukur Ibrahim, is using this development to warn all illegal miners to either follow the due process if they want to do the business or leave the state in their own interest.”
He gave the names of the suspects as Kaka Azare, 56, Muhammed Dan Azumi, 30, Abdullahi Adamu, 35, Abdullahi Muhammed, 30, Suleiman Babayo, 20, Muhammed Umar, 15, and Nasiru Abubakar, 18.
Others are Adam Muhammed, 25, Alhaji Muhammed, 25, Nasir Bello, 25, and Ismail Garba, 25.
