The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has paraded 13 suspected criminals over alleged cultism, theft, cyberstalking, criminal conspiracy, assault and attempted murder.
The state commandant, Mr John Fayemi, while parading the suspects, said the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) of the command had been working assiduously to make sure that the state was free from security breaches.
According to him, the command will not allow young boys and girls, who are supposed to be our “leaders of tomorrow, destroy our heritage and relegate human dignity with impunity.”
City & Crime learnt that the suspects, Tosin Adebayo, 22, Abejide Olamide, 22, Adeoye Adesewa, 22, Oke Oluwanife, 22, Ayeni Banke, 22, and Adekola Iremide, 22, had been on the radar of the command since March 18, before they were arrested at 10 Ekute Area of Ado Ekiti.

The NSCDC boss said Miss Omolola Muda, 23, had approached the command and reported a case of attempted murder against the above suspects and how she was mobbed by seven of them, who stripped her naked as a result of a misunderstanding between them.
“After the victim was stripped, the suspects injected pepper into her private part, took the video and posted it on the social media group created by the principal suspect, Tosin Adebayo, who is the group leader.
“Preliminary investigation by the Counter Terrorism Unit showed that the suspects are members of a cult group in the state capital, and their mission initially was to kill the victim and dump her in a pit before an unknown person in the neighbourhood came to her rescue,” he said.
In another development, some students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, were arrested by the Counter Terrorist Unit on April 8.
The students were suspected members of the Eye fraternity, who were wreaking havoc on the people living along Poly Road, Ado Ekiti.
The suspects, Adebayo Ayomideji, 19, Aladegbemi Oluwafemi, 22, Ayedemi Damilola Tosin, 18, Oyebanji Selim, 20, Abiodun Taiwo, 23, Taiwo Okunmakinju, 23, and Abiodun Kehinde Seun, 25, were arrested with some of the stolen goods in their custody.
