The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command and the Nigeria Police Force, have consolidated ways of sustaining security in the territory.

According to the spokesperson of the Corps in the FCT, Monica Ojobi, the reinforced collaboration took place when the newly deployed FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Dantawaye Miller, visited the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Dr Olusola Odumosu, at the Command’s headquarters in Abuja.

Odumosu said that in as much as the FCT seemed relatively peaceful at the moment, there was a need to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to sustain the tempo.

He promised the newly deployed CP of the Command’s maximum cooperation in every area of securing the FCT.

“We must continue to forge ahead and come to a round table to ensure that we move FCT to another level where people can go about their normal businesses without fear of any criminal attack,” the commandant said.

According to him, the visit symbolised the continuity of an already existing relationship between both security agencies.

“Seeing you today has given me hope and confidence that the days of unhealthy rivalry are over and a more united front against criminals in the FCT is in place,” he said.

Earlier in his remarks, the CP reiterated that security was an enormous task and advocated for multi agency collaboration to attain positive results.

CP Dantawaye, who lauded the Commandant for the synergy he started enjoying upon his resumption, called for stronger and constant joint operations between the two agencies to nip crimes in the bud.

He also appealed for flawless cooperation in terms of intelligence gathering and sharing, pledging absolute commitment to ensure that the synergy continues to yield successes.
