The image maker of the command, Mr Balogun Kayode, who disclosed this to reporters, said five private security firms failed to comply with the provisions of Section 3 (d) of the NSCDC Act, 2003.
He said the section stipulates that all security firms be registered with the NSCDC which also has the power to regulate their activities to prevent infiltration of criminal elements into the private security set-up.
Kayode listed the affected companies to include Planet Guards Ltd Akure, CAA Security Service, Ondo, Ondo Municipal Security, Kage Security System and Ultimate Security Nigeria Ltd.
The Head of Private Guards Department of the Ondo (NSCDC) Command, Samuel Ojo, whose department sealed the premises of the firms yesterday, warned, “government parastatal, corporate organisations, individuals and schools against transacting business with the closed companies.”
