The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has constituted a task force to clamp down on unregistered and unprofessional armed private guards operators in Bauchi State.

The Commandant of NSCDC in Bauchi, Ilelaboye Oyejide, who constituted the task force, said the state would no longer be a haven for the operation of illegal security guards, noting that if the trend was left unchecked such operators would constitute security threats.

Oyejide explained that, “The illegal private guards operators, illegal miners and the Sara-Suka (that has become a menace in the state) will be dealt with thoroughly.

“I have constituted a task force to monitor and crack down on illegal private guard operators. Already, a team of well-trained gallant personnel is on ground to go after these miscreants. Bauchi State will not be a haven for them.

“Any illegal private guards operator detected will be taken to court.”
