The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE),Thursday, conferred fellowship awards on 20 engineers at the society’s 2016 fellowship conferment ceremony held in Abuja.
Speaking during the event, NSE President Engr. Otis Anyaeji said that the 20 engineers conferred with the fellowship have distinguished themselves in the engineering profession and are joining the league of elite professionals in delivering value services to the development of the nation.
He said, “Your conferment is earned by dint of hard work and dedication. However, I wish to rekindle here that, the expectations of NSE and the larger society from our conferees are high, with regards to strict adherence to professional codes, standards and ethics. The NSE therefore, reserves the right to revoke and withdraw the fellowship certificate of any member enmeshed in breaches brought to the notice of the society.
“This conferment of fellowship must not be seen as an end in itself but an opportunity to be of greater service to the Nigerian Society of Engineers; supporting its projects and programmes, and lending your voices and muscles to its quests to change the face of engineering practice. I therefore charge you to continue to prove yourselves as worthy ambassadors of NSE.’’
The NSE president commended the Board of Fellows, led by Engr. Sir Chris Okoye for the diligent process of selecting the calibre of engineers conferred with the society’s fellowship.
