A release from NSE headquarters said Executive Director of CG-LA Inc. Tamara Essayad, conveyed news of Olorunfemi’s appointment in a mail last week.
CG-LA Inc. is a United States-based infrastructure research and development organization.
Essayad stated that Olorunfemi’s appointment was informed by his valuable participation and contributions to the Global Infrastructure Leadership Forum series over the years.
The Strategic Top 100 Projects Reports are CG-LA’s annual lists of the top infrastructure projects in regions that complement the leadership forum series, which include Africa and by implication Nigeria.
The reports focus on existing and future projects, capturing the true reality and opportunities of the infrastructure market.
The appointment of Olorunfemi is coming on the backdrop of the successful hosting of the World Engineering Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure (WECSI) in Abuja from November 2–7 2014, by the NSE.
It was an event that brought together all engineering organizations across the world under the auspices of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO).
WECSI 2014 which theme was “Development of Sustainable Infrastructure in Africa” offered Nigerian engineers opportunity to lend their professional problem-solving approach to the infrastructure deficit question in Africa.
Useful debates and deliberations were done during the conference with specific focus on fundamental subjects on development of sustainable infrastructure such as Principles of Infrastructure Concessioning, Engineering Education, Research and Innovation, Business Intelligence and Infrastructure Financing.
Already, NSE has started planning for its annual conference tagged Sunshine 2015 in Akure, Ondo State.
The event slated for November 16–20 2015 has the theme, “National Integrated infrastructure Master Plan (NIIMP) 2014 – Strategies for Implementation”.
Olorunfemi will work on the CG-LA Board with eminent scholars from across the globe to provide market intelligence, macro-economic analysis as well as other ancillary advisory services.
Founded in 2002, the Infrastructure Leadership Forum series is an open infrastructure marketplace that provides opportunity for project sponsors from both the public and private sectors to meet decision makers from finance, engineering, contracting, equipment, technology, and services communities.
With the reports, CG-LA seeks to support the doubling of global infrastructure investment by 2020 and this will form a key part of the agenda of the upcoming 8th Global Infrastructure Leadership Forum holding from February 25–27, 2015 in New York, USA.
