NSF picks 10 players for Ghana Championship

Disclosing this to Grassroots Sports, NSF Technical Director, Mpaka Jack, said the 10 players were selected based on their performances at the Abuja Scrabble Open.

The players are: Jighere Wellington, Ikekeregor Dennis, Umebiye Cyril, Umujose Emmanuel, Eta Karo, Omosefe Prince, Oshodi Sunday, Saidu Ayorinde, while the other two will be announced later by the federation.

The federation also decided to put two players on standby, they are: Okwelogu Chinedu and Wale Ilori.

In the latest players rating released by the federation during the week, Jighere Wellington is rated as No 1 scrabble player in Nigeria, while Pakorn Nemitramansuk and Balogun Rasheed are the second and third best in the country.

Others are: Ikekeregor Dennis (4th), Lukeman Owolabi (5th), Umebiye Cyril (6th), Umujose Emmanuel (7th), Eta Karo (8th), Moshood Sanni (9th) and Faloye Ibukun (10th).
