A statement signed by Special Adviser to the MD/CEO, Obinna Ihedioha issued to Daily Trust says Ackerman will provide overall guidance and supervision to the Nigeria infrastructure fund as well as investment decisions for the future generation and stabilization funds.
Mr. Ackermann emerged the best out of the 337 candidates who applied for the position of Chief Investment Officer after a rigorous and transparent international recruitment process.

Before his appointment he served in the capacities of Chief Investment Officer and head of asset management in Saudi Arabia, President and Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Investment Management Inc in New York, President and Managing Partner of Eiger Asset Management, CIO and Senior Portfolio Manager of Swiss Bank Corporation (UBS)  in New York, Co- founder and principal of Monteverdi International Management LLC among many others.
