NSITF boss urges staff to bridge manpower deficit

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Adebayo Somefun, has urged heads of department to bridge manpower gaps in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Somefun gave this charge in   Abuja at the induction ceremony for staff of the fund.

He said the need for staff to understand and embrace the vision and mission of the organisation informed the induction exercise.

Represented by the General Manager, Administration of NSITF, Olusegun Basorun, Somefun said he had given a marching order to the human resources department to identify the gaps and move quickly to bridge such breaches.

He said, “The human resources department has the mandate of the managing director to identify knowledge gaps wherever they exist and initiate actions to correct them.’’

Underscoring the need for induction of new staff, Somefun noted  that it was necessary to expose new staff to the NSITF culture of how things were done to achieve the  desired results.

He  also said one of the cardinal mandates of the present management was the promotion of staff welfare, adding that, “This goes beyond salaries, having a conducive work environment is very important in motivating employees to deliver on their tasks. The present exco has executed the first phase of equipping our offices with facilities. There is a proposal in the 2018 budget to do even more.”
