The excursion, which was organised by the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with Odum Travels and Tours Limited Calabar, aims at exposing and educating the students.
According to the incumbent Director of Socials, Faculty of Arts, Desmond Ablaba Envoh, “the essence of academic excursion or visit is to expose students to various happenings, especially outside the academic environment.”
Envoh, however, noted that life consists of “3Es” – education, experience and exposure. And for one to be well-educated, one needs to be exposed to different experiences both within and beyond one’s immediate environment.
The students expressed joy, saying the excursion was successful because they visited different places, from Calabar, through the Marina Resorts, Calabar Slave Museum, down to the Tinapa Resorts where they had a lot of fun.
