A Professor of Islamic studies, Prof. Musa Inuwa Fodio in a lecture titled “Good governance in Islam: the Nigerian experience”, said there is need for good governance in a given society in order to ensure peace, unity, stability and progress.
However, in the presentation of another lecture tagged “The role of Islamic values in political reforms in Nigeria” by Prof. Muhibu-din M. Aremu of the Islamic Studies Department, he said the rulers are expected to serve the interest of the ruled to the very best of their abilities.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad A. Mainoma noted that the system of religious laws concerning good governance must not be jettisoned by leaders as we shall all account for our deeds and actions on the day of judgement.
 Guests present at the event include the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Chindo Yamusa II, Hassan M. Liman, SAN, Senator Abdullahi Adamu (CON), Justice Maiwada Abdullahi, (FCNA) and other dignitaries.
