The outgoing students painted their dresses with different colours and inscriptions such as “I am now a graduate,” “Bye-bye NSUK,” “It’s the beginning of a new life,” among others. Some demonstrated with facial makeup and poises signifying the completion of their studies at the university, as they walked out of examination halls.
Departments such as Islamic Studies, Psychology, Theatre and Cultural Studies, Mathematical Science, History, among others held sendoff parties on the campus and rallies through Angwan Lambu (students’ village) down to the High Court area, another settlement densely populated by students of the university.
Okina Oshomwa, a graduating student from the Department of History said the moment was worth celebrating and gave glory to God for sustaining their lives in good health all through. We lost some of our mates whom we started with, at the beginning and the mid of this journey. Therefore, we have to celebrate and thank God for keeping us alive.
