This was revealed after the recently held university senate’s meeting in Keffi.
The Department of Mass Communication, established in the year 2005, was based in the Faculty of Arts before the recent decision to move away from there.
However, the decision did not seem to be welcomed by the students and lecturers who mostly pleaded that the department be left in the Faculty of Arts.
However, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Prof. B.S Jatau, said the department was originally supposed to be under the Faculty of Social Sciences, describing the movement as a wise decision.
Anna Joseph, a 200-level student of the department said the news came as a surprise to him because it was not expected by the students.
