“Since 2007, the station has been annually giving opportunities to students of the department to do their three-month internship programme, I have never had to complain about their behaviour in all the years they have been coming,” he pointed out.
He revealed that the station, which is dedicated to the coverage of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration, has been winning “The Best Television Station Award” in the Federal Capital Territory.
“The value which the students added to the station has contributed to the winning of the awards,” said the manager.
Adio advised the students that as journalists, they should not be thinking of how to make money and fame at the beginning, saying: “If you add value to the media house you work for and if you genuinely contribute to the progress of the society, that is when the name and, maybe, money would come.
Adio was on the main campus of the university, recently, to play the role of the Father of the Day at the launching of a news writing book authored by a 300-level student of the department, Ahmad Muhammad Auwal, 22, who is an indigene of Keffi Local Government Area.
He was conducted round the radio/television studios of the department by the acting Head of Department, Mallam Muhammad S. Rabi’u, in company of a former dean of arts at the university, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi.
