The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) Coordinator for Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC), Erdal Yilmaz, said the school spends over N500 million every year on 167 students that are benefiting from the NTIC scholarship scheme.

He stated this while announcing 100 per cent scholarships and cash prizes for finalists of the 19th ANMC, recently.

He said: “With ANMC, we have been able to awaken the mathematics potentials in students and have been of great help in leveraging the students’ functionality in the science-oriented area.”

Three exceptional students were given 100 per cent scholarship; Luis Lu from Kerrile Prep School topped the roll in the primary five and six level while Okadike Kennedy from Dority Int’l School clinched first position at the JSS3 category.

Also, the top 20 positions were awarded cash prizes that ranged from N10,000 to N200,000, for both the primary category and JSS 3 category.

Their mathematics teachers also received cash prizes up to N100,000 while the schools were rewarded with gifts like photocopiers, desktop computers and printers.

The 21 exceptional students from the junior and senior categories will have access to 100 per cent full-tuition scholarship awards, cash prizes and academic equipment.

The managing director of NTIC, Fevzullah Bilgin, said NTIC is the sole sponsor of the scholarship while Access Bank sponsored the organisation of the 19th edition of the contest.

Bilgin noted that NTIC is committed to organizing the competition every year to further energize students’ love for mathematics and other science-related subjects.

 

“This will in turn, aid the budding students who will be nation builders,” he stated.
