The National Union of Benue State Students (NUBESS), Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Chapter has inaugurated its newly elected officials.
The event, which took place at NSUK’s Faculty of Applied and Natural Sciences, saw Mr. Okwa Daniel taking the oath of office as the new president.
Those sworn-in alongside Mr. Okwa include Odoh Janet (Vice President), Ngior M. Geoffery (Secretary General), Andrew Onah (Assistant Secretary General), Uwua Helen Hembadoon (Treasurer) and Apochi Joseph Dickson (Financial Secretary). Others are Achile Jacob (Auditor I), Ogwu Okopi (Auditor II), Adikwu Matthew (Director of Welfare),Silas Ojotu (Director of Socials -Male), Ujor Mary (Director of Socials -Female), Mbashinya Terna (Provost), Terser Abraham (PRO I), Onah Inori Blessing (PRO II) and Samuel Odagboyi (Director of Business).
In his acceptance speech, the president solicited the support of the members, while tasking them to “preach and practice peace” among themselves, as “that is the only way to achieve the vision of greater Benue.”
Earlier, Comrade Joseph Agada, President of National Association of Idoma Students (NAIS), who spoke on behalf of the leaders of other ethnic nationalities in Benue State, assured the new officers of their full support and called on the students to be of “good character and law abiding.”
NUBESS is the umbrella body of Benue students comprising Tiv, Idoma and Igede.
