The recent employment conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) has generated outcry after some officials cited allegation of unfairness in the exercises.
About 66 persons were recruited last year and were due for confirmation examination this month. Their names were reportedly placed on the commission’s notice board in Abuja.
One official who prefers anonymity said the employment exercise was illegally conducted because “it failed to reflect federal character principles.”
 Another source said the recruitment exercise was partisan and some applicants were treated less favorably.
Attempt to reach the former Executive Secretary, Professor Julius Okojie before he handed over leadership to his successor Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed yesterday were not successful.
The commission had recently sponsored fresh recruitment advertorials in some newspapers.
