The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kaduna State has commended the Medical Director, Federal Neuro Psychiatrist Hospital Kaduna, Professor Abdulkareem Jika Yusuf, for providing free psychological treatment to journalists.
Arewa Trust Weekly reports that as members of a profession that often face psychological trauma, the hospital management often provided free psychological care to the practitioners.
Speaking at the Zone A maiden roundtable and zonal meeting held in Kaduna, the Zone A Vice President, Comrade Yusuf Idris said the leadership recognised Prof. Jika for his service to humanity and care for less-privileged patients and further commended him for his support to local communities.
The medical director, who was represented by Alhaji Mahmud Alhassan, thanked the union for the recognition and said the award will encourage the hospital and its management to render more services to humanity.
He added that the hospital management has also repaired collapsed boreholes in the hospital for optimum supply.
