Names of nominees for the 2015 edition of the music awards, Headies, is out as Olamide leads the pack with seven nominations. This year the jury announced that music materials which are eligible for review and nomination are only works done from July 2014 to June 2015.
While Olamide is nominated for Best Pop Single with ‘Bobo,’ Best Rap Album with ‘Street OT,’ Best Street Hop with ‘Bobo,’ Album of the Year with ‘Street OT,’ Artiste of the Year, and Song of the Year with ‘Bobo,’ Lil’ Kesh had nominations in the ‘Next Rated’ category and also Best Collabo category with ‘Shoki’ remix featuring Olamide.
Also on the list is Adekunle Gold in the Best Alternative Song category with the hit song, ‘Sade,’ and producer, Young John also made the cut with a nomination for Producer of the Year with Olamide’s ‘Bobo.’
For collaborations, Olamide is also nominated alongside Reminisce for Best Collabo with ‘Local Rapper’ and Lil Kesh’s ‘Shoki’ remix in the same category.
Other acts who made the cut include Asa, P-Square, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Cobhams as well as upcoming Afro-soul musician, Aramide Sarumoh-Alli who was nominated in the best vocal performance (female) category.
The category which is a non-voting category for the single female artiste with the most outstanding vocal performances on a single or album has other artistes like Waje ‘Coco baby,’ Simi ‘Tiff’ and Yemi Alade ‘Duro Timi.’
Her song ‘Iwo Nikan’ which has received massive airplays was the nominated in that category.
