NFVCB: Bala urges on excellence

The Director-General of the Nigeria Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Patricia Bala, has urged all movie industry practitioners to continue to raise the creative bar of excellence in a way that promotes unity, economic growth and development of the nation.
According to a release the NFVCB boss said this while felicitating with the nation on its 55th Independence anniversary. She pointed out that the industry must redouble efforts at projecting the positive values that bind the country, bring about peace, social harmony and sustainable progress.
“The industry must also never lose sight of the fact that Nigeria’s wellbeing and development as a peaceful nation will continue to be of immense benefit to Nollywood’s creative energies anchored on achieving a broad value chain,” she said.
Bala noted that the movie industry must appreciate the need for continuous support of the government in its efforts to ensure security, create jobs and rid the nation of corruption.
She added that the NFVCB is ever committed to pursuing regulatory policies that will continue to propel the growth of a better structured and organised industry with tangible benefits to all stakeholders and the nation at large.
The Nigerian film industry has grown to be the second largest in the world, creating jobs and boosting national income.
