Fani Kayode: the hysterics of a grand loser (2)

Not long ago, Femi Fani-Kayode, the churchless, hate mongering Evangelist, denigrated the Igbos; now he is recruiting them and just about everyone in Southern Nigeria to rebel against Fulani herdsmen, read: the Buhari government, because as he has just discovered, the herdsmen are “vagabonds and vagrants.”
In the “The herdsmen from hell”, his latest outburst, the misguided grand loser called Femi Fani-Kayode, totally out of sync with civilised conduct, took extreme liberty to label the entire Fulani nationality as “marauders and vandals.” The attention-seeking misbegotten chap also called for “the expulsion of all Fulani herdsmen from the southern part of our country.” Obviously, this tribal brute, lacking future in a united Nigeria governed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and presided over by Muhammadu Buhari, envisions an inter-ethnic war that may disunite Nigeria and may be, just maybe, create for him an Oduduwa Republic where he imagines he can thrive.
Fani Kayode alleged, without the slightest shred of evidence, that in the last few years, “the Fulani herdsmen have attacked, ravaged and pillaged many rural communities south of the River Niger and they have slaughtered and raped thousands of innocent people in the South-South, the South-East and South-Western Nigeria.”
Despite having “one of their own in the Villa” (He’s practically abusing Muhammadu Buhari), our frustrated and drowning pig-headed Deacon, unconscionably describes the Fulani herdsmen as purveyors of ‘terror, intimidation, theft, murder, rape, abduction, mutilation, the violation of the rights of others, the destruction of the land and crops of farmers and the destruction of property.” He claims the Fulani are rather like “the East African tse-tse fly: wherever they go they suck the blood of their hosts and like the locust, they destroy everything in their path. They are like leeches: they indulge in a parasitic mode of nutrition and they suck the blood of the carcass until their victim is left for dead.”
The convenient excuse for all this hate campaign against the Fulani is the kidnap of Chief Olu Falae from his farm by alleged herdsmen. Reports had it earlier that the marginalised and politically declining Chief was having running battles with some herdsmen whose animals supposedly violated his farm and ate his crops. In Fani-Kayode’s fertile imagination, the kidnap of Falae was officially sanctioned to punish the Chief for his vigorous support for “national conference” and for his opposition to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 election! Blimey! Except for someone with riotous thoughts, no one would imagine that a paper politician like Falae could pose any political problem to Buhari in any part of Nigeria.  Buhari’s APC had publicly opposed Jonathan’s “national conference” from the beginning to the end and had refused to send representatives. The fact that APC and Buhari have won the election means that the recommendations of this circus of a conference are dead on arrival. It follows then that Chief Falae and his ilk had simply wasted their time attending and a doomed conference. What else does Buhari need to prove after he has beaten Falae in Ondo State, won the Yoruba votes and become President, notwithstanding the damned, noisy opposition? In any case, Falae had always been beaten in – Yoruba land – by Northern candidates!
The kidnapping of Chief Olu Falae is a condemnable criminal act and it’s up to the Nigerian law enforcement agencies to apprehend those involved and punish them appropriately but it is not as if the Chief is the first or only important Nigerian kidnapped before now. The 80-year old Alhaji Shettima Ali Munguno, First Republic Minister, was kidnapped in Maiduguri, in May, 2013; Barr Mike Ozekhome was snatched in Benin, in August, 2013; Alhaji Abu Dan Kure was shanghaied in Sokoto in November, 2013 and never overcame the trauma of his captivity and so he died shortly after his release; Reverend Ignatius Kattey was equally hijacked in Port Harcourt, in September, 2013; Donu Kogbara, a renowned journalist was also abducted in Port Harcourt in August this year. The brother of the immediate past DG of DSS and even a relation of former President Goodluck Jonathan were kidnapped before now. Were these people less important than Olu Falae? Were they also kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen? Did Fani-Kayode condemn their abduction?
Is the kidnapping of Falae by suspected Fulani herdsmen enough reason for anyone to make a blanket condemnation of the group and call them “vagabonds and vagrants”? Was it the kidnap of Falae that pained Fani-Kayode or the suspicion that the crime was perpetrated by the Fulani?  No one should be gullible, there is no conclusive evidence that those who kidnapped Chief Falae are Fulani, and we are not in court yet. Falae said his kidnappers spoke Hausa, or did they speak Fulfulde? It’s irrational for Fani-Kayode to malign the herdsmen over a matter that is still under investigation.
Even the inmost study of current realities does not warrant Fani-Kayode’s hysteria “that the Fulani herdsmen are nothing less than the vanguard and covert armed wing of the Fulani ruling class which has managed to infiltrate the South under the guise of selling cows.” Why? Because we are in a democracy and so the Fulani ruling class doesn’t really need an armed wing, they rely on their sheer number and in alliance with others win elections and take over government; hence, there is actually no basis for these “alien cattle-rearers” to “commence the wholesale slaughter of the indigenous population in their host states” as a means of acquiring power. I mean the Fulani are in power already and Fani-Kayode has to live with that.
Our thoroughly frustrated and diminishing Deacon, Femi Fani-Kayode, ruled by self-interest, has abandoned the Bible and is fishing for a tribal war. What happened to Adolf Hitler’s theory of race purity?
