It has become evident that the tussle for Lugard House is being hijacked by interests who lack simple sense of judgment regarding the role of the dead among the living.
The question: “who succeeds Audu?” is an intellectual question which discourse should be open to liberal minds.
Let me recall for the purpose of emphasis that Audu’s death has given birth to criminals of power who for selfish reasons are bent on perverting the natural curse of justice. The first set of criminals tried to argue an insane cause saying that the party should be run like a monarchy, but reason cannot be so lost that Kogites would allow themselves to be ruled by age longed monarchical traditions.
I hereby predict that the same victory over this insanity will repeat itself in the same argument that Faleke should replace Audu.
First and foremost, the dead have no business in the leadership of the living. I am particularly disappointed by the positions of shallow minded characters like Dr. Tom Ohikere who think that the dead have the right to choose a leader for the living.
I am very confident that the people of Kogi state would not allow themselves to be ruled by the opinion of Ohikere and his likes. I am relieved by that fact that Yahaya Bello and the good people of Kogi state know the truth regarding the correct cause of things. Bello is a man who came second in the Kogi APC Guber primary election.
Fate re-invited him to embrace the same cause he had pursued. Dear reader, isn’t it a thing of simple procedure that a man who came second in an election and accepted that position be elevated following the death of the initial winner? I had thought that this issue will follow the Natural procedure in the emergence of leaders.
In this era, biological affiliation should not be misjudged for political followership. That being the case, there is no basis for the consideration of any other person but Alahaji Yahaya Bello for the APC governorship candidature.
Let me make it clear that my arguments are void of sentiments except sentiments in favour of the ones of Kogi state. I believe that my position here is my signature and I will continue to be described by it.
I admonish leaders of APC at all levels, including to be mindful of the interests that propel them at this point in time. I say this because greater political parties than APC have fallen on account of injustice. Any party that fails to abide by the time-tested rules of justice risks going into oblivion.
Because I am sure that reason will always prevail against selfish interest especially in states like Kogi, I make bold to congratulate Alhaji Yahaya Bello in advance.
