Following the decision of the running mate to late Prince Abubakar Audu, Mr James Abiodun Faleke, not to be Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s deputy for the December 5 supplementary election in Kogi, the battle for his replacement has commenced.
Daily Trust learnt yesterday that political actors from across the state have been thronging Bello’s residence lobbying for the job.
Although it was learnt that Bello’s desire was to get his running mate from Audu’s camp, the current political situation has made him to consider options from either Yagba East or Yagba West.
It was gathered that among those being considered as replacement is former acting governor of the state, Mr Clarence Olafemi and Mr Samuel Aro, a former senatorial aspirant under the Accord Party.
Daily Trust further gathered that the replacement will likely be announced today or Friday. Meanwhile, some of the people in Audu’s camp are said to have started aligning with Bello’s camp.
