Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has urged the Nigeria media to be fair in reporting events especially as it concerns the giant construction company. Speaking at an interactive session of the company with the media in Abuja on Tuesday evening, the Executive Director, Administration, Allhaji Zubairu Ibrahim Bayi, on behalf of the company’s management hailed the cordial relationship Julius Berger has enjoyed with the media and urged that the relationship be sustained.
“The media and Julius Berger share the same challenge -delivering efficiently on public needs,” adding that the progress of the company is public driven and demands for the support of the media as a stakeholder and watchdog of the society.
He further enjoined them to seek clarification from the company before publishing stories concerning the company.
In his comments, the Chairman of the Abuja chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Paul Ella Abechi, who was in attendance, said Julius Berger has made giant strides in the construction sector of the country because of its efficiency in engineering works.
He therefore, requested that the company build a befitting library for NUJ in Abuja as part of its corporate social responsibility.
