The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Mobile Court in the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has convicted 12 of the 20 traffic offenders it prosecuted, while eight were discharged.
 The unit commander, Mr. Charles Umoh, who spoke during an interview with our reporter recently, said the court sat on specific traffic corridors of the Kuje-Gwagwalada and Kuje-Airport roads.
 He explained that the offenders were prosecuted for dangerous driving, speed limit violation, use of phone while driving and over-loading of passengers.
According to him, other offences include driving with expired driver’s license, over-loading, dangerous driving, seatbelt violation and expired vehicle documents, among others.
 Umoh said the establishment of the mobile court was a result of the collaboration between the commission and the judiciary in an effort to enforce discipline on motorists and reduce road crashes.
 He urged motorists and other road users to obey traffic rules, warning that the command would not spare offenders. He further advised motorists to be cautious, especially when conveying passengers to their destinations ahead of Christmas celebration.
