A member of the House of Representatives has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers  State was engaging in acts capable of influencing the ruling of the Appeal Court in the state governorship election case.
The state governorship election tribunal sitting in Abuja had last month cancelled the election of Governor Nyesom Wike and ordered a re-run in some local government areas of the state, following a petition by the APC candidate, Dakuku Peterside.
However, Rep Kingsley Chinda, who represents Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency of Rivers State, said the march by some supporters of Peterside on Monday in Port Harcourt, in remembrance of the victims of election violence in the state was a propaganda to hoodwink Nigerians.
The lawmaker added that, “it shows their lack of respect for humanity and human life that they will plan a rally to remember those who in their imagination and lies were killed in the violence that engulfed Rivers State before and during the governorship election in which the people rejected them and their lies.”
He said instead of embarking on such propaganda, Peterside and his supporters as well as Rivers APC should concentrate on how to prove their case of widespread violence before and during the election at the appellate court.
