The Court of Appeal sitting in Yola yesterday upheld the election of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwanbo of Gombe State.
The court confirmed him as the duly elected governor of Gombe State in the last general elections. Delivering the judgement, Justice Helen Ogunwumiju, ruled that the APC governorship candidate and his party were unable to prove their claim of election malpractice beyond reasonable doubt.
Reacting to the judgement, counsel to Governor Hassan Dankwambo, Barrister Zubairu Umar, lauded the judgement, saying justice was given to the right person.
But counsel to the APC governorship candidate, Barrister Aliyu Usman Barde, declined to speak to the press on the matter.
