The Nigerian Army said yesterday it has arrested another wanted Boko Haram kingpin along the Borno-Adamawa border.
Abdullahi Abubakar, who is reportedly number 58 on the published list of 100 wanted insurgents released by the military authorities, was arrested in Uba Askira area and is being interrogated at a military facility in Adamawa State.
When contacted, the Brigade Commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu confirmed the arrest but declined further comment, saying the army headquarters in Abuja should be contacted for details.
“Yes we have made an arrest. We are still doing some profiling now. If you want any information, you should contact our headquarters in Abuja,” he said.
Efforts to obtain comment from the army headquarters yesterday failed.
The suspect was in possession of a camera and tripod when he was apprehended.
