Ministry honours Nigerian who graduated with 5.0 CGPA in Russia

The Federal Ministry of Education has honoured the best graduating student of Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow (RNRMU), Dr Victor Olalusi, who scored 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)  in 2013.
Olalusi was the best graduating student in the whole Russian Federation in 2013 and one of the students that studied in RNRMU, under the Russia-Nigeria Bilateral Education Agreement.
Speaking at the event, the permanent secretary Dr. MacJohn Nwaobiala described Olalusi as a genius, saying that going by his achievement, has become an ambassador not only to the ministry but to Nigeria and Russia.
He said: “We have to search the Guinness Book of Records for anybody who has achieved 5.0 in a university. It is curious and strange that all those that evaluated his performance could not find reason to reduce a point from him.”
The permanent secretary said he looked forward to the day that Oluwasi will receive his award from the president, urging him to continue to be a role model to young Nigerians.
It is agreed by some of the Russian education authorities that Nigerians have exceptional talents and grasp knowledge easily.
The representative of the Russian Embassy, Mr. Artem Romanov, said Nigeria was blessed with abundant human potentials, adding: “Olalusi is a hardworking person. It is not easy to achieve such in Russia. It goes with talent and hard work. I urge you to engage your knowledge in the development of your father land.’’
Olalusi commended the federal government and the scholarship board for the opportunity given to him and other Nigerians to study without difficulty.
Olasusi’s father, Mr Olarewaju Olalusi, attributed his son’s feat to hard work and determination, adding that his son attended  normal public schools.
