Re: Task before Katsina APC

Ordinarily, this would have passed unnoticed as being one of those fussy issues that people canvass in media fusses but for the spurious allegations albeit ambiguously against some officials of the present administration by a certain Abubakar Kabir Danmusa, in the Daily Trust of Tuesday, July 7, 2015 (at page 47).
I’m responding to the publication without formal consultation with the ‘accused’, taking into account their dispositions on issues of this nature, particularly, this one that lacks substance.
As far as I can judge, the publication was mischievously intended to pre-empt the much-awaited preliminary appointment of some top government officials and aides of the governor. This to me explains why it was full of flaws, and the issues raised therein were wicked and inaccurate extrapolation.
I am not by any means holding brief  for the personalities accused in the publication; it is however important to note that Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, the  newly appointed Secretary to the State Government has never prefixed his name with Dr in all his social, academic and political life.
For some of us who knew former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema even before he came under the political spotlight, his disposition toward key functionaries of the late Umaru Yar’adua administration in Katsina, particularly the ones that held office from 2003 – 2007, were not surprised to see him behaving the way he did. His flamboyance, his holier-than-thou disposition and his predictable “I-know-it-all” habit are very well known to every adult.
A part from the role played by Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa in Shema’s emergence as governor, he was also the Chairman of two important committees during the period under review i.e. the Governor Shema inauguration committee and the presentation of staff of office to the newly appointed 60th Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar CFR by the then president- elect Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’adua.
It is an irony to claim that money meant for upgrading of schools and the fencing of army barracks were embezzled by Inuwa. It is indeed crazy, taking into account the fact that the schools in question and indeed other projects not mentioned by the author were actually executed.
Ii is something to wonder at that Abubakar Kabir would be unable to make brief investigation of the matter before putting pen to paper. That little effort would have afforded him the opportunity to know that Inuwa never relented requesting Governor Shema to institute judicial panel of enquiry to investigate him on alleged corrupt dealings starting from his short stints at Danmusa as Chairman of the Local Government Council, General Manager Katsina State Transport Authority, Commissioner of Education and subsequently as Secretary to the State Government.
We should not forget that Governor Shema took Mustapha to court on two occasions, one on criminal charge and the other on civil matter praying for a N1b damage, all with the intention of damaging the good name of Mustapha. The outcome of the two court cases vindicated my claim, as the one on criminal charges was dismissed for lack of merit as no case was established against Mustapha. Furthermore in a dramatic twist of events, the other case was voluntarily withdrawn by Governor Shema as soon as election results were announced with the APC convincingly winning all.
