This, according to the Union has brought untold hardship to the pensioners nationwide, many of whom are very old and are dependent on the monthly stipends for survival.
In a statement by its National President, Dr. A.O Afolayan and the General Secretary, Elder Actor Zal in Abuja on Friday, appealed to the Minister of Finance and the coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala to as a matter of urgency release funds for the payment of April pension without further delay, especially as the current government begins to wind up.
