This,he said was necessary to prevent the crisis from resulting into a nation-wide strike that will not augur well for the economy of the nation.
 Achese,who spoke in Lagos at the weekend, also appealed to the Chief Justice of the Federation and the Attorney-General of the Federation to unravel the embarrassing judgement passed by an Abuja Federal High Court, on the IPMAN crisis, when an appeal on the same issue is pending at the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt.  
NUPENG had last week gave two-weeks ultimatum for the IPMAN’s crisis to be resolved failing which it will embark on strike.
But Achese accused the Federal government of plotting to destabilize the union through its former members with a view to neutralizing the effects of the ultimatum given to IPMAN.
He said the union reliably gathered that clandestine meetings were held in Abuja by these government agents with the union’s former members with a view to sponsoring them to divide the rank and file of the Union for their selfish ends.    
 He said:’’ These elements, the union gathered, are being sponsored because of the 14-day ultimatum issued by the union on the miscarriage of justice on the IPMAN crisis that is affecting NUPENG members in the downstream sector.
‘’We therefore warn these individuals and their paid agents not to take the union, for a ride, as we are only fighting for justice, fair play and the right of our members.
‘’The union therefore calls on its members to be watchful, vigilant and alert as these fifth columnists are out to cause confusion and the spirit of discord in the Union, which will be forcefully resisted  as they are attempting to form a parallel NUPENG.”
 He warned the Federal government agents to stop inciting and instigating the former members of the union against the decisions of the National Executive Council (NEC) of NUPENG.
