The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) have taken major steps toward enhancing revenue collection for the Federation.
A statement by NUPRC’s Head, Media and Strategic Communication, Eniola Akinkuotu, said the decision was taken when the Commission Chief Executive, NUPRC, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, visited the Chairman of NRS, Mr. Zacc Adedeji, met at the corporate headquarters of the apex tax agency in Abuja.
Mrs. Eyesan’s visit was also part of her wider engagement with relevant stakeholders following her assumption of office as CCE last month.
It stated that based on the new tax laws that came into effect on January 1, 2026, the NRS and the NUPRC are expected to collaborate more closely in the collection of oil and gas revenues.
At the meeting, both parties agreed to work more closely in the interest of the country in order to meet the revenue target set by the government.
