The President, Comrade Sunday Alhassan made the call weekend at the union’s National Executive Council meeting in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
While lamenting that NIPOST was no longer giving the best to Nigerians, Comrade Alhassan asked the “federal government to immediately commercialise Nigeria Postal Service.”
He stressed that in order to drive the initiative, the postal reform bill of the Nigeria Postal Policy before the National Assembly be passed into law in earnest.
Alhassan cautioned the government to hand over the take-off grant to a management that has commercial orientation.
“We will not sit by and watch the fund given to people who can’t drive the process commercially and the money goes down the drain and our members begin to suffer.”
He also called on government to carry the workers along in the process of the commercialisation of the Service.
