Residents of Maje community on the outskirt of Suleja in Niger State were left in a state of confusion following the abduction of a nursing mother by gunmen.
City & Crime leant that the victim’s 13-year-old step son, as well as another housewife from a nearby home, were also abducted by the gunmen on Tuesday.
A resident, who simply gave his name as Musa, said the nine-day-old baby of the first victim and her co-wife were spared by the kidnappers.
A family source who spoke under condition of anonymity, told our reporter yesterday that the kidnappers made contact on Wednesday, demanding N5m per each person.
The source added that, “They also warned that the nursing woman was bleeding which could lead to her death if the ransom was delayed.’’
City & Crime learnt that the husband of the nursing mother works in the Southern part of the country and was yet to arrive.
The police spokesperson in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, promised to get back to our reporter on the matter when contacted on yesterday but was yet to do so at the time of filing this report.
