The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kaduna State Chapter, says names of 9,000 workers, including teachers, are removed from the state’s payroll by the government. 
The Daily Trust had reported that the Kaduna State Government struck 9,000 names from its payroll after it suspected them to be phony in an employee verification exercise. 
Rising from an emergency national executive council meeting held in Kaduna, the chairman of the NUT, Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Audu T. Amba, said that the action of the state government was unfair and may lead to industrial dispute.
He said that while the payment of salaries was not regular for the period of three months, no explanation was made by the government. “Verification exercise has been on since June 2015 to date with no end in sight, but the government has come up with a list of 9,000 workers whose names were deleted from the payroll of government and awaiting dismissal letters,” he said.
