Education unions and key stakeholders in Zamfara State have commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his commitment to reviving the state’s education sector.

The commendation was made during a courtesy visit by the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON), and the Education Secretaries Forum to express satisfaction with recent reforms and encourage the government to sustain the momentum.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the governor, the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Prof. Nasir Garba Anka, thanked the stakeholders for their dedication to nation-building and conveyed the governor’s appreciation for their support.

Prof. Anka reaffirmed the state government’s resolve to provide the resources and institutional backing needed for effective service delivery across schools.

He noted that Governor Lawal’s declaration of a State of Emergency on Education reflects a firm commitment to restoring the sector’s lost glory and repositioning it as the foundation of sustainable development.

Earlier, the Director of Academic Services at ZSUBEB, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, highlighted achievements recorded under the current administration, including policy reforms, infrastructural upgrades, teacher capacity building, and improved learning outcomes.

In separate goodwill messages, leaders of NUT, AOPSHON, and the Education Secretaries Forum praised the governor for prioritising education and pledged continued cooperation to ensure the success of ongoing reforms.
