The national secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), in collaboration with the Center for Public Administrators and Advanced Management Studies (CPAAMS), has organized a three-day training workshop for the union’s clerical officers, computer operators, and confidential secretaries.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the three-day training workshop, which was held at the FCT NUT teachers’ house in Gwagwalada on Wednesday, the General Secretary of the NUT, Dr. Clinton J. Ikpotibo, said the training was an initiative of the union’s national secretariat to build the capacity of its workers.

He stated that the workshop was specifically for clerical officers, computer operators, and confidential secretaries from all 36 states and the FCT.

He said the union observed that since the world is going digital, it has become imperative to organize a training workshop for such staff to upgrade their knowledge and skills.

“We find it necessary that NUT also provides the opportunity for our workers to upgrade and update their knowledge and skills. If the workers who are handling files, operating computers, and working in the area of ICT and so on were not trained, our work would not be performed optimally,” he said.
