Speaking to Fever Pitch yesterday, the former Super Eagles assistant coach said he is in support of the player’s suspension but not outright exclusion from the team.

He said considering the player’s commitment and immeasurable value to the team, he should instead be given what he described as ‘suspension with hard labour’.

Nwosu said: “I do not subscribe to outright suspension of the player. I am not against his suspension but considering the fact that he is a good player who is committed to the national team, he should be recalled to the team but not paid his entitlements.

“This is what I call suspension with hard labour. If I want to discipline any player that has erred, I usually allow him to train, play and win a match but I don’t pay him his allowances. This is a punitive measure that works perfectly.

Nwosu therefore said Nigeria should not be denied the services of Osaze.

“If he is suspended completely, it is Nigeria that will lose. We all know what he is capable of doing on the field of play”, said Nwosu.
