A lot of people have been calling for Mr. President to resign, but the PDP is saying he should stay put. What is your opinion on this?

M.C Tahir: I stand by what the National Assembly said as a member of the hallowed chamber. I think the president needs our prayers at this particular time in our history. Nigeria for what I know, we are very committed and prayerful people and we do fervently pray for our leaders when they are ill or indisposed. I do think the same should apply to the President presently in this case. Yar’Adua is still the president of our great country, Nigeria.

What is your relationship with Murtala Nyako, Governor of Adamawa like?

Our relationship is very cordial. It is just like the  relationship between a father and a son, that transcends my generation. The relationship dates back several decades ago with my father and family. He is a strong ally and an associate of my father.

What are your plans for your constituency, as the year is coming to an end?

I have keyed into the plan and programmes that I have for the people in my constituency. It is my intention to downplay politics and allow development to flourish for the time being so that after leaving office, I can feel free to move around my constituency without molestation.

My projects cover health, agriculture, water supply, transportation, crime prevention, education, youth empowerment, women empowerment, sports, community development and media/information.
