In a state broadcast on Saturday ,Governor Nyako regreted that the state adjudged as the most peaceful and secure is now witnessing a spate of wanton killings, saying that, “these are evil and criminal acts would not be tolerated or condoned.”

 

He noted with concern that the perpetrators were merely hiding under the guise of religion and ethnicity to cause disaffection among people of Adamawa, ‘’therefore, we must face these evil persons squarely,’’ the governor threatened.

While appealing to non-indigenes not to contemplate leaving the state, but go about their normal businesses, Nyako however said the state government will bear all burial and medical expenses of the families of those involved.

The state police public relations officer, ASP Altine Daniel had earlier confirmed that no fewer than 12 people were killed and many others injured during a night attack on a church in Nasarawa area of the state capital on Friday.
