NYCN elects new officials in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has elected new executives to steer its affairs for the next four years.

Malam Muhammad Lawal, the newly elected Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the council made the disclosure in a statement issued on Monday in Keffi.

Lawal explained that the new executives emerged after delegates across the 13 local government areas and development areas in the state unanimously endorsed the new officials.

He said Idris Ojoko from Agwada, Kokona LGA emerged as the state chairman, while Malam Mohammed Atose, from Keana LGA emerged as deputy chairman.

Other officials are; Mr Akolo Alaku, secretary, Bridget Baba, assistant secretary, Malam Umar Rabiu, organising secretary Nasarawa West, Mohammed Ja’afaru, financial secretary, Samuel Attah, legal adviser, among others.

The Organising Secretary, Nasarawa West, Malam Umar Rabiu, expressed determination of the council to compliment efforts of the government in addressing youth idleness by engaging them in meaningful ventures.

Rabiu also appealed to the youths to shun drug abuse and all forms of violence as preparations for the 2019 elections gathered momentum.

He also called on all political stakeholders in the state to ensure issue-based campaigns and avoid character assassination with a view to ensuring peaceful political atmosphere before, during and after the polls.
