National Diploma students on the orientation camp exercise, corps deployment and general dos and don’ts of the service.
According to Mr. Henry Dalung, an Assistant Director with the Corps Deployment and Minority Unit of the Katsina NYSC, the exercise was aimed at exposing the students to the basic rules of camp.
He stressed the need for them to acquire authentic medical reports in the case of sickness.
Mr. Dalung debunked the allegation that pregnant women and nursing mothers are also subjected to rigorous exercise during the orientation.
“In the past, activities during orientation course were physical and rigorous and not good for the health of pregnant women and nursing mothers. Also, the facilities in our camps are not designed to accommodate corps member in such peculiarities.”
Dalung said that pregnant women and nursing mothers are only allowed to register and leave the camp to their husband’s state of abode.
